We were able to catch a farmer’s market while visiting Strasbourg, France. A farmer’s market is a great place to get a feel for the local town, check out the food and talk to local people.

Cooking starts with choosing ingredients, and the fastest way to improve a recipe is to start with the very best ingredients. Shopping local can help you do that. Back home, we routinely shop at the farmer’s market because we get produce that is fresh and grown for taste instead of for how well it survives a long trip to the store. This way we are also leaving a smaller carbon footprint when we buy produce that has not been shipped for hundreds of miles.
