SHOPPING AT A LOCAL FARM STAND
A trip to a farm stand can be a fun outing and remind you of where the food actually comes from.
The farm stand is located right on the field where the produce is grown, so it doesn’t get more “farm to table” than that.
You will obviously be shopping local, buying produce that is just picked and in season, and helping the local economy.
Everett Family Farm is a cute farm with great produce that is open daily. So close to Santa Cruz that it is convenient for produce shopping. In the fall the farm is so beautiful when the persimmon trees have turned orange.

A trip to the farm can be a fun and educational outing, as well as an opportunity to get some of the best local produce at a local farm stand. Gizdich ranch offers a picnic area and sells homemade pies as well as apples and berries.
STARSIGHT FARM FLOWER STAND ON IVY LANE
Starsight Farm is a 2 acre farm in Santa Cruz, California in the Live Oak area. They grow cut flowers to sell wholesale and through community supported agriculture. On Saturdays, they have a local farm stand in Santa Cruz where they sell flowers to the public.
Starlight Farm grows flowers free of chemicals in order to protect the biodiversity of the farm, which includes the pollinators, soil, people and animals, and the surrounding neighborhood and waterways that connect to the ocean. As mentioned on their website, “purchasing locally grown, pesticide-free flowers is a great way to maintain a low carbon footprint while keeping yourself and your loved ones happy and healthy”.
