With limited space and restricted water, we want to grow plants that will pull double duty, and growing herbs makes that possible. The secret is choosing herbs. Fresh herbs can be expensive if you buy them in the grocery store. Planting them in the yard allows you to have them available whenever you need. Instead of harvesting the whole plant, we usually just take a few leaves, and it isn’t even noticable in the garden. The photos include chives, mint, rosemary, cilantro and various kinds of basil.
