FIGS FOR FIG STAR BREAD
CAMPO DE' FIORI - One of the oldest markets in Rome, opens early in the morning. I love watching a market set up, so this was the perfect area to stay for our first night in Rome. With jet lag, we were up at 5:00 am and out for a walk when the market was just setting up.
FIG STAR BREAD IN ITALY - We love the look of this fig star bread. We first saw the star shaped bread in Italy. A soft sweet bread that looks very festive, but is actually very easy to make. The bread is made from a basic sweet bread dough, and for this version we used fig jam and fresh figs. The recipe is on our blog (link in bio)
WALNUT BREAD
PLANTING FLOWERS FOR HUMMINGBIRDS
HOW TO MAKE CREME FRAICHE - Creme fraiche is like a French version of sour cream. It sounds fancy, but it is very easy to make. Check out our blog post (link in bio).
BOURBON PECAN ICE CREAM - Bourbon pecan ice cream, made with maple syrup. My new favorite flavor. (link in bio)
PLANTING FLOWERS FOR HONEY BEES - Honey bee populations are on the decline, and it helps to plant flowers that provide food for them. We researched what to plant and are planning next year’s garden. More info on our blog (link in bio).
Spices - stocking up the pantry. New post on the blog (link in bio). Just before the holidays is the perfect time for stocking up on spices.
Tomato tart recipe posted on our blog (link in bio).
We just posted a recipe for cassoulet inspired by the dish we had at Au Pied de Cochin in Paris and the Tarbais beans from @ranchgordo
Planting flowers to attract butterflies definitely works! Check our blog for a list of some of the best. (Link in bio) #nature #naturephotography #butterflies #environment #gardening #garden #gardens #environmentallyfriendly #blogger #photography #photographer
