Not your Grandmother’s Waldorf Salad

Waldorf salad, originally created at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York, has been a classic in homes for generations.  We updated the classic by giving it a new look.  Walnuts, raisins, apples, and celery with a strawberry mayonnaise dressing.  The dressing is made with a little walnut oil, crème fraîche and pepper flakes as well.   Photos by Tony Fitzgerald Photography PHOTOS ARE AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE FOR IMMEDIATE DOWNLOAD FOR COMMERCIAL USE.

How to have a “green” wedding

The choices you make for your wedding can have a big impact on the environment.  But you can have a gorgeous wedding and protect the environment at the same time by considering these:  A local venue so your guests won’t have to travel Having an outdoor wedding to reduce the use of cut flowers and decorations Having the wedding and the reception in the same location Venders who are certified “green” Wedding invitations made from recycled paper  – or better yet, create a wedding website and send invitations by email  (check out  our  post about Greenvelope) A local flower designer and flowers that are grown locally and that will be in season for the wedding A digital photographer who is certified “green” and have your proofing gallery online, or better yet, have your photo album online A gown that has been used before, or donate the gown after the wedding A certified “green” caterer and locally grown organic ingredients
