Janine and David met at a reunion a few years ago, and it was clear that they were meant to be together. They were wed at the lovely Nestldown wedding venue in Los Gatos on a beautiful July day. Both Janine and David love the redwoods and there was a redwood theme weaving it’s way through the wedding. The programs were DIY graphic on brown paper and miniature photos and wooden clothes pins. The guests signed a large wooden plank and received a parting gift in handcrafted wooden boxes. After the ceremony in the outdoor natural redwood “chapel” in front of the lake, the miniature train delivered the couple to the cocktail hour in the foxglove meadow. They had an area for playing bocci and a decorated stand with a blackboard for taking photos and writing well wishes for the couple. Aly Pickersgill and Christian Holmes were married on August 9, 2014 in Martinez, California. The event marked the day Christian joined a very talented family. Christian, himself a videographer, along with Aly is the talent in Glitch Films, and somehow they managed to film their own wedding, along with Bryan Gibel. Aly is also an artist and drew the figures for the wedding cake and the decorations. The bride’s mother, Lisa, spent months designing and landscaping the backyard to turn it into an incredible venue for the wedding. The Groom’s Godmother, Merry Sturtz, was in attendance from Maui and conducted the ceremony, and the Bride’s father, William Pickersgill, who sings in the San Francisco opera, sang before the wedding. The wedding was coordinated by Annie Love, who used to be a stage manager, and was attended by many of the artists who create the Bracebridge dinner at Yosemite every year. The farm is so beautiful in when the persimmon trees have turned orange – a small family wedding would be incredible here in the fall. They even do flower arrangements for weddings.
