Bruges, also known as the Venice of the North, is renowned for its charming canals, medieval architecture, and cobblestone streets. Bruges is home to a multitude of chocolate boutiques that offer an array of mouthwatering treats, making it a true paradise for chocolate lovers.

The chocolate shops of Bruges are a feast for the senses. As you stroll through the city’s picturesque streets, the aroma of freshly made chocolates wafts through the air, luring you into these delightful boutiques. Once inside, you are greeted by a dazzling display of chocolate creations, with meticulously crafted truffles, pralines, and bonbons beautifully arranged in glass cases. The shops themselves often have a charming, old-world atmosphere, with wooden shelves and cabinets adorned with intricate chocolate molds.

The craftsmanship and quality of the chocolates in Bruges are truly exceptional. The chocolatiers take great pride in their creations, using only the finest ingredients and traditional techniques. The chocolates are often handmade, ensuring every piece is a work of art. From classic flavors like dark chocolate and hazelnut to innovative combinations such as lavender and sea salt, there is something to satisfy every chocolate connoisseur’s palate. Whether you’re purchasing a small assortment as a souvenir or treating yourself to a decadent box of chocolates, the chocolate shops of Bruges are a delight not to be missed.

We made it our mission to sample as many as possible.  In case you are wondering, Mary’s chocolates won the contest – they are the Chocolatier to the royal family – we can see why! Bruges is now my favorite place to travel.
